Voting for Computer Weekly Social Media Awards ends Friday!

Three of our projects are up for Computer Weekly Social Media Awards 2011 and the competition is strong so we would be very grateful for your vote.

We have been shortlisted in the category ‘Best use of social media (public sector)’.  Our projects are:

  • Foster carers support each other with Yammer
  • Live Q&A Twitter sessions with Cabinet members
  • Social care recruiting using YouTube

You can read more about all the projects shortlisted here and anyone can vote here.

Please vote!

We’re very grateful our use of social media has been recognised by experts in digital communication as we are aiming to make the council as approachable and engaging as possible.

We won three awards from Somecomms in October and we’re finalists in the UK Public Sector Digital Awards in January 2012.

A  list of Monmouthshire social media activity is on our website for anyone who wants to keep up with what’s going on and join in with discussions about their area or interests.
